The Polish November Remembrance

Monday, November 10th, 2008 |

Ninety years ago, on November 11th, 1918, Germany surrendered to the Allied Powers, thus ending WWI and adding Veterans Day to the roaster of western traditions.

This day is celebrated as Independence Day in Poland. One of the most powerful influences, which shaped the world after WWI, was President Woodrow Wilson’s strong personal conviction that democracy requires full recognition of the principle of “national self-determination”, i.e. respect for people’s choices as to the country and system they want to live under.

Brazilian Churches to Conduct One of the Largest Christian Evangelistic Efforts in History

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 |

Today, millions of Brazilians across the country will gather around a television during prime time to watch one of the world’s greatest athletes — but they won’t be seeing a sporting event. The Brazilian soccer superstar Kaká will be sharing his testimony of hope and faith in Jesus Christ during the first night of one of the largest Christian evangelistic efforts ever, Minha Esperança — or My Hope Brazil, a ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). The highly anticipated broadcast dates for My Hope Brazil are Thursday through Saturday, November 6-8.

My Hope Brazil is an effort driven by local Christians to reach their community with the message of God’s love through television programming and their own testimonies. Those involved in the outreach, called “Matthews,” recalling the disciple who invited friends to his home to meet Jesus (Matthew 9), are inviting neighbors, relatives and friends to their homes to watch the programs and hear the message of hope. After viewing the program, the “Matthews” will share their personal testimonies and then invite those present to accept or rededicate their lives to Jesus.

Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation 2008 Annual Conference - The Addict in Us All

Thursday, September 18th, 2008 |

Addiction sounds ominous, and it is. Addictions to drugs, alcohol, and gambling tear families apart and ruin lives. But this conference is about more than the junkie scoring dope or the alcoholic hiding vodka around the house. Even the average person gets stuck in negative behavior patterns. Overeating, shopping, sexual temptation, people’s approval, even love…everyone struggles with something. And everyone faces moments of despair and thinking that change is not possible.

Is it possible to change longstanding behavior patterns? The faculty and counselors at CCEF believe that God can change the despairing and the stuck—no matter what they are struggling with. CCEF’s 2008 Annual Conference “The Addict in Us All” slated for November 14-16, 2008 at the Valley Forge Convention Center and November 13 Pre-Conference hopes to accurately represent what God says to stuck people and those who want to help them.

Marriage is no business of the government

Monday, August 18th, 2008 |

Pastor David Whitney, a Senior Instructor at “Institute On The Constitution,” will be the September speaker in the group’s monthly “First Friday” lecture series. His talk will explain why marriage is no business of the government, why there should be no marriage license requirement. The “IOTC” is an educational effort on the part of the Law Office of Peroutka and Peroutka of Pasadena, Maryland. The program is intended to reconnect Americans to the history of the American Republic and to their heritage of freedom under law.

By exploring the fundamental principles of civil government upon which our Constitutional Republic was founded, and by studying the original intent of the founders, we can begin to recover the lost freedoms that require knowledge and vigilance to protect and defend. Today, many Americans are surprised but delighted to learn that we were founded as a Constitutional Republic of Sovereign States with a central government of purposely limited powers based on Biblical principles. The recovery and application of these principles is necessary for the reclamation of the Republic.
