Karen L Brauer MS, RPh, President of Pharmacists for Life International, submits the following:
In a routine internet search for the news, I followed a link to a fascinating recent New York Times article “Palin fuses motherhood and politics in a new way”. The author, Jodi Kantor, carefully avoided the more obvious abuse of Sarah Palin by the media, concerning her ability to simultaneously serve as mother and public official. However this quote caught my eye: “In just a few months, she has gone from hiding her pregnancy from those closest to her to toting her infant on stage at the Republican National Convention.

Psychologists, counselors, academics and clergy are joining with men and women who have had experience with abortion to discuss the procedure’s effects on men at the “Reclaiming Fatherhood” Conference in Chicago, Sept. 8 and 9. They are speaking out about what they say is an “invisible problem” - men, as well as women, can have profound grief and suffering as a result of an abortion experience.

Attendees have come from throughout North America, and as far away as Europe and Africa.

Governor Pat Quinn and other dignitaries as they were making their entrance to the grandstand surrounding the Old State Capitol building in Springfield, Illinois where the most liberal, pro-abortion presidential candidate was about to present his running mate, Senator Joe Biden, another pro-abort. This is what the Democratic Party stands for. When you put a face on abortion it’s ugly.

The Knights of Columbus and the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office for Evangelization are co-sponsoring a national conference to focus on the effects of abortion on men whose children have been aborted in Chicago on Sept. 8 and 9. Featuring an international panel of speakers and participants, the “Reclaiming Fatherhood” conference will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Oak Brook, IL.
The Milwaukee-based National Office of Post-Abortion Reconciliation, headed by Vicki Thorn, is organizing the conference, which seeks to bring to light what Thorn describes as the “invisible” issue in our society and even in the Church: the profound effect that abortion has on fathers whose children are aborted.
