The vast majority of people are deficient in water because they do not know that you really need a lot more in order to be healthy. If you are ever thirsty, that means you have already gone way past the point where you are dehydrated. If you are dehydrated your brain isn’t going to work properly and your body isn’t going to function in the way that you would like it to.

Water Consumption Amounts

If you are a young female your are going to have to drink less water than a very muscular male, but it is a good bet to get 3 liters of water every day. Most people think that is way too high and will cause you to pee too often. This may be true at the beginning, but eventually you will be able to lose weight with water if you are just doing the right exercise along with it.

Getting a gallon of water a day can be a healthy option as well if you have the willpower to drink that much water. At the end of the day, tally how much you have had and make sure it is enough. You may find that you need a lot more than you are getting. Keep a recording and make sure you hit your targets or start to get a lot more in your diet.

Why Water is Important

If you are not drinking enough water your body is going to start shutting down vital parts that require water to maintain themselves. That means your brain, which is the primary consumer of calories and water, will have significant troubles if you are not getting enough water. The best aspect of getting enough water is that it can actually get rid of a lot of waste in your body. You need to get rid of the waste somehow and your body uses the urine in order to excrete all of the waste.

When you are burning fat much of the byproducts are coming through your urine and if you don’t have enough water it will get backed up. You do not want fats clogging up your body at all so make sure you are getting the water in fat burning situations.

If you are building muscle you also need a lot of water so that your muscles can grow and get the nutrients that they need. Without water, your body does not take the nutrients like protein and glycogen to their respective areas. When this happens you cannot heal as well and you start to have some serious health problems. More importantly, you just start to stagnate and you can’t lose any of the weight that you really want to lose. Follow the instructions for the reasons mentioned above and you will remain a lot healthier and happier in the future.
