Why wouldn’t there be hype for a game with a trailer on the verge of release that had a previously good title?
Why There Is No Visible Hype For Half Life 3 Release Date
There isn’t as much visible hype for Valve’s Half Life 3 or Episode 3 because it hasn’t been shown off yet.
The second it gets announced the internet is gonna explode. That’s just how games work.
There is literally no other game we can think of that is gonna cause as much of a buzz once it appears as Half Life 3 will.
Its like everyone’s favorite super hero showing up to save the day after everyone thought he was dead.
In Half Life 2′s case, they showed it too soon rather than announcing it too soon.
We don’t see why Valve doesn’t just formerly announce that its in development, rather than joking about it.
id Software announced the development of Doom 4 in 2008 but haven’t shown off anything in years, EA announced Mirror’s Edge 2 was in production before Christmas but they aren’t going to show it off any time soon because of Battlefield 4.
Valve can announce that its in the works, and we think everyone’s lives would be easier.
But right now it looks like Valve is trying to avoid the Half-Life IP because they don’t want to be a Half Life factory and want to be known as more than just a Half Life developer.
Notice the push with MP games with in-game stores and Steam as a brand that can compete with consoles.
Times have changed, out with the old guard – in with the new.
