The waiting is over and finally, horse update for Minecraft 1.6 is now available.
But there will always be some unsatisfied player with the latest update to hate. The 1.6 latest update is awesome, horses are great, carpets look good in our house, stained clay is a good variant of wool, and we love getting loot in nether fortresses as well as some new horse-related stuff in dungeons, so how is it an unsatisfied update if it is making the community happy?
Everything about the horses is too cool – leads, armor, hay, and name tags. We will have an amazing riding them around. Flew around to a few nether fortresses and the loots are so great in most of them. Then, the resources packs and new hunger system are nice from what we can tell, its better.
I like the stained clay and the block itself looks very nice. Also, the charcoal retexture looks nice, and the coal block looks like it would be good to use as asphalt to make roadways in a town type build and such. Its a great update. Hopefully with this update, we’ll see some better modpacks when mods begin to update.

Minecraft for Linux / Other
*Download minecraft.jar. The jar is executable and might work as-is. If you run into memory issues, try launching it with java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame, also please use Sun’s JVM.
If you’re running on Windows and just want to set up a server easily, download Minecraft_Server.exe and run it.
If you want to run the server on any other OS or without GUI it’s a bit more involved. First make sure you can use java from the command line. On Linux and Mac OS X this should already be set up but on Windows you might have to tinker with the PATH environment variable. Download and run minecraft_server.jar with java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui.
