Skyrim for PS4 and Xbox One redoing them to increase the graphics?

What if a Game of the Year edition Skyrim is also set for PS4 and Xbox 720?

Skyrim with new DLC on PS4, Xbox One?

So let’s say in the next few months there will be a new DLC, and then sometime from November 2013 to March 2014 a Game of the Year edition of Skyrim is released, bundled with all of the DLC, with graphics settings equivalent to Ultra PC settings, as well as all of the official Bethesda HD Texture Pack mods, for the Playstation 4 and Xbox 720.

Would you buy it? Or would you rather buy a GOTY Skyrim on current generation version instead?

Or would you refuse to buy the game a second time, even though a next-gen version would improve the visual fidelity (perhaps because graphics don’t bother you in the slightest)?

We think most people interested in the game already have it, they aren’t going to want to shell out for it a second time just for fancy graphics.

Add to that, when you buy a new console, a lot of people prefer to get a new game too. Not a two year old one that’s been tarted up.

Plus there’s also the fact that Bethesda ha the majority of it’s people on the next big project.

We really can’t see how it’s feasible financially for them to do this, not to mention the game would essentially have to be rebuilt for the console versions in order to incorporate those new graphics, they were originally done with a specific set of hardware specs in mind.

And redoing them to increase the graphics that far would take a fair bit of work.

Still, let us know what you think.

Would you buy a next-gen version of Skyrim GOTY?

I’d buy that in a second Skyrim is one of those games that i didn’t need to think twice about spending $60 on because of its near-infinite replay-ability

While I would buy this on the first day, what’s the point of this article on this site? It’s probably not going to happen, and to even start a rumor about this is a mean spirited thing to do.

If you have anything to lend credence to this question, other than “I just wanted to know”, then please…give it.

I’m so glad someone brought this up, I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I would totally buy it no question. It’s a win win for Beth and gamers, make it so.

  • saintfighteraqua

It would have to be somehow better and NOT be the glitch fest the console versions were this gen.

I can’t say I care much for buying a game I already have. I’m not the kind of person that cares about graphics, I still play Morrowind after all…

    I would buy oculus rift

First off, I doubt this will happen. However, if it did, it really wouldn’t be that difficult. You’re arguing from a current console to next gen standpoint for some odd reason, when that doesn’t make any sense. The argument that you’ve heard over and over again for the next gen consoles is that they’re much more similar to PCs. So why would you upgrade from the console version, when you could MUCH more easily parallel port from the PC version? It really wouldn’t be that difficult to make happen, but why bother? There’s no more DLC for Skyrim on the horizon and Fallout 4 (unless Bethesda surprises us, but the last time that happened we knew about it well beforehand) is set early in the next gen console lifetime. Personally, I’m much more interested in Fallout 4 than a HD version of Skyrim I can already play on my PC. That being said, there’s a decent chance I’d buy it anyway. I love Elder Scrolls and Fallout (especially Fallout).

the skyrim goty has already been released. bethesda has already said that there will be no more dlc for skyrim. get over it. stop putting up these dumb ass stories tricking people into thinking that there will be more dlc. STOP IT.

Actually updating the game for the xbox One and PS4 will be much easier then you might think as they are running on pc based hardware. They simply have to find a setting that will run on those specs easily. Which wont be hard.

I’m the type of guy who enjoys a great game but I think Beth should do both a DLC for those who don’t want to buy another copy and an upgraded version for those who do. even do a trade in for new gen type of deal. I’m just sayin…

    Rpg games not my type

  • Amer Cakar

Yes I would. I would see the ps3 one, get allittle extra money and experience the game as it should have been from the start(better graphics and zero load times). I’m dissappointed about the buissness model on ESO so I would totally get skyrim reamped with the dlcs as I have now and play. I also thought that it was backwards compatible though…

Too bad they are well into development of Fallout 4. Maybe if they pasted if off to another team but they would have to know if they were going to make enough money for it to be worth it.

  • Master Troll

    FALLOUT 4!!! FALLOUT 4!!!

  • iPrimal

All they need to do is build off the pc version, and port it. It wouldn’t be THAT difficult.

    • Terrance Earle

Except the x86 version is based off x87 code which is only single core threaded and causes tons of stack overflows. They’d have to rewrite the engine.

  • Fuck You

    who the fuck wrote this?!?!?!
First off Bethesda has already said there will be no more dlc for skyrim so stfu. Second, the goty version was released months ago so stfu. And finally, Xbox 720??? its the fucking Xbox One you moron.
In conclusion, STFU and GTFO idiot.

  • Jason Rubert
