Wide Condemnation for No on 8 Ad

Written on November 4, 2008 – 9:23 pm | by admin |

A growing number of faith leaders denounce a new “No on Prop. 8″ ad running on television stations today. The ad, produced by a group called “Courage Campaign Issues Committee.”

Some of them include Larry Pegram of Values Advocacy Council, Pastor Miles McPherson of the Rock Church, Rev. Rohn J. Ritzema of Association of Christian Schools International, Rob McCoy the senior pastor of the Calvary Chapel church in Thousand Oaks, Bishop Stephen Blaire the President of the California Catholic Conference and Craig Garbe the president of Cornerstone Christian School in Roseville.

The advertisement depicts supposed missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints conducting a home invasion of a lesbian couple’s home to steal their wedding rings and rip up their marriage license.

“I see the caricature of Mormon missionaries as not just an attack on the LDS but on all people who claim to be Christian.” said Craig Garbe.

Rev. Rohn J. Ritzema, said “I take strong offense to the despicable ad portraying members of the Mormon church as some type of ’storm trooper’ that invades the privacy of people’s homes. This type of ad is totally unacceptable. People of faith, any faith, have the right to express their views without being vilified.” “This ‘Home Invasion’ ad should be removed from the airwaves,” Ritzema added.

Stephen Blaire lacks moral authority on any issue. He spearheaded legal defense of pedophiles and the institutions that aided and abetted them. Time after time, he had the opportunity to take a stand in defense of children and each time he chose to defend the catholic hierarchy. Don’t listen to the wizards in the cloaks and the klan hats. Just look at that guy and trust your gut that he is a creep. Don’t follow his divisive teachings. He’s a pure political operator looking for a cheap win over a minority. He is already a disgrace and should be driven from the pulpit. If you don’t believe me, google “stephen blaire” sexual abuse.

Thank Goodness the Mormons were willing to take a stand. Proposition 8 passed!

This stand has made them targets.
